We were delighted to have renowned trumpet player and our ambassador Matilda Lloyd at St Gabriel’s in Pimlico for a masterclass with our young musicians.

Throughout the session, players had the opportunity to work closely with Matilda on sections of their pieces, receiving detailed, individual feedback. Her insights helped each musician build on what was already some very impressive playing, and it was wonderful to see how quickly even small adjustments made to their pieces!
In the last session of the day, the trumpet players got to join Matilda for some ensemble work. They rotated through different positions within the group, so each player could get the challenge of leading the ensemble, whilst also experiencing supporting. It was a test of their sight reading skills too!
